This policy explains what data Morphoto ("the App") collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We designed the App to collect as little data as possible.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your photos for advertising or to train third-party foundation models.
Uploaded photos are processed by our AI generation provider — Beijing Volcano Engine Technology Co., Ltd. / BytePlus Pte. Ltd. ("Volcengine / BytePlus") — solely to produce your retouched image. We ask for your separate, explicit consent before any photo is sent to this third-party AI service, and you may decline or withdraw it at any time.
Photos are transmitted over encrypted connections and are retained only as needed to deliver the result and to let you re-download your recent works. You can delete your works in the App at any time. Our servers and AI provider are located outside your country; by using the App you understand your data (including uploaded photos) will be transferred to and processed in those locations under the safeguards described in this policy.
We contractually and technically require Volcengine / BytePlus to protect your data at a level no less protective than this Policy and applicable law — encrypted transfer, deletion after processing, and no use of your photos for model training or resale. Their privacy policies are available at volcengine.com and byteplus.com.
Withdrawing consent: go to Settings → Face Data Processing Consent in the App and turn it off. After withdrawal we stop transmitting your photos to the AI provider; AI retouching becomes unavailable and other features keep working. You can also delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete Account.
Account data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account — including profile, uploaded images, retouch tasks, points records and shared works — at any time via "Profile → Settings → Delete Account" in the App. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data. You can exercise most of these directly in the App; for anything else, contact us at support@morph.photography.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, and to request that we delete it or correct it.
Photos you upload for retouching may include your face. Except for the limited, transient processing described below for the Group Retouch feature, we do not use facial-recognition technology, do not create facial geometry templates or biometric identifiers, and do not identify or track individuals across photos. Uploaded photos are used solely to produce the retouched image you requested.
Group Retouch (retouch only you in a group photo). When you use Group Retouch, our server detects the faces in the group photo you upload and compares them with the reference photo of yourself, solely to locate you in the photo. This detection and comparison runs in server memory only for the duration of the task, and the numerical face representations (embeddings) are discarded immediately when the task completes. We do not store face coordinates, cropped face images, or face embeddings; the only record we keep is the position number of the face you selected (for example, “2nd from the left”). Other people in your group photo are never modified and their facial data is never stored — their faces are detected only transiently, are excluded from retouching, and remain unchanged in the final image. Before you first use Group Retouch, the App shows a supplemental disclosure about this transient processing of other people’s faces and asks for your explicit confirmation.
Before any photo is processed by AI, the App asks for your separate, explicit consent to the AI processing of that photo; you may decline, and you may withdraw consent at any time by discontinuing use of the retouching features and deleting your works. A record of your consent (and of AI-processing requests made after withdrawal) is retained for legal compliance purposes.
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on servers with access controls. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
We may update this policy; material changes will be announced in the App. The current version is always available at this page.
